PHENOMENAL START TO 2025 REGISTRATION

February 5th, 2025

Over 30% of available places were snapped up, within three days of registration opening, for this year’s 42nd Royal Sutton Fun Run, on Sunday, 1 June!

In-person registrations at the official launch, hosted by supporting sponsor Gracechurch Centre, in the heart of Royal Sutton Coldfield, increased by over 100% on recent years and online registrations had topped 1500 before the middle of the week.

Fun Run Event Director, Tracey Spare enthused: “We’ve had a phenomenal start to registration. It was great to see so many people in-person at the official launch last Saturday in the Gracechurch Centre.

“There was a real buzz in the centre. I must extend our thanks to Royal Cinemas for the cinema tickets, main sponsor Cookes Furniture for the sweets and balloons and to Studio 55 for photography and Ark Media for recording video footage for use on our social media platforms, which all added to the atmosphere.

“Within an hour of online registration opening, we’d had nearly three hundred people, and a few dogs, register and there was a steady flow for the rest of the weekend, by which time over 1150 people had secured their place online.

“Royal Sutton Coldfield Mayor, Councillor John Perks kindly attended the official launch with his wife Sarah, and before they left, both had confirmed they’d be on the start line on 1 June to walk the 8.5-mile course.”

Registration for this year’s Royal Sutton Fun Run [Sunday, 1 June] via the Fun Run web site www.royalsuttonfunrun.org will close when all 5500 have been filled or Friday, 11 April – whichever occurs first.

Entrants who participated in last year’s event generated £302,400 for charities and voluntary organisations, a rise of £115,000 on the previous year, taking the overall total to over £5.4million since the first event in 1982.

Tracey concluded with a message to anyone considering taking part: “With such a great start to registration, anyone wishing to participate is encouraged not to delay and sign up today, as places are limited to 5500.”
