PASSING OF FUN RUN FOUNDER

It is with immense sadness to report that Brian Latham – who back in 1981 had the original idea of staging a Fun Run in Sutton Coldfield – passed away on 7th August aged eighty-three.
Many who knew Brian would have come across him through his working life at Harry Parks in Birmingham, Sportsco in Sutton Coldfield and across the West Midlands, Aston Villa club shop and Sutton Runner in Boldmere.

Brian was a fount of knowledge when it came to sports equipment, footwear and sportswear and was always happy to pass-on his years of retail experience & product knowledge.
He was an integral member of the Fun Run organising team for 21 years and continued to provide support on Fun Run day in following years after he stepped back from the organising team.
Brian was passionate about many things including supporting Aston Villa but most importantly, and top of Brian’s list, was his family.
Our thoughts are with his close & extended family and his large network of friends as they come to terms with his passing.
