Andy Perks raises over £5000 for Cancer Support Centre

Andy Perks, Client Relations Manager, InkTree Birmingham, has continued his relentless fundraising via participation in this year’s 40^th Royal Sutton Fun Run and raised £5482 for The Cancer Support Centre, Sutton Coldfield.

Fun Run stalwart Andy Perks said: “I set my initial target at £1000 but within a week friends, colleagues and my InkTree customers had smashed that total and it continued to grow despite the challenging financial position everyone finds themself in.

“The Cancer Support Centre is very close to my heart, and I can only express my gratitude to everyone who contributed towards my fundraising.

“I’ve witnessed the wonderful work the team at the Cancer Support Centre on Lindridge Road, Sutton Coldfield undertake. They are making the lives of so many people living with cancer, along with their support network of family and friends, a little more bearable.”

Jackie Price, Manager, The Cancer Support Centre said: “We were delighted Andy accepted our invitation to become an ‘Ambassador’ for the charity earlier this year. We could not have a better person helping to promote and raise awareness of the centre.

“The money Andy’s raised will help us continue to deliver a range of treatments to people across the West Midlands living with a cancer diagnosis.

“Everyone’s experience is different, and everyone’s needs are different, and our support is as individual as they are. We offer complementary treatments to ensure the mind is in the best possible health, whilst the body recovers from the ongoing challenges that cancer presents.”

Fun Run Director, James Pike said: “Andy Perks is a fundraising phenomenon. He’s raised nearly £40,000 via participating in the Fun Run for a variety of charities close to his heart – over £8,500 in the last two years alone.

“Andy epitomises the spirit of the Fun Run. Enjoying a great day with family, friends or work colleagues whilst raising money for a charity or voluntary organisation of your choice.”

Online registration for the 41st Royal Sutton Fun Run opens over the first weekend of February with the event due to be staged on Sunday 2nd June 2024. Places are limited to 5500.
